Japan Visa Itinerary & Schedule of Stay for Indonesians (2026)
Indonesians are travelling to Japan in record numbers, and the first thing to figure out is which path applies to you — because only one of them needs a visa itinerary.
Do you even need a visa? Two paths
- Registered e-passport → 15 days visa-free. If you have an ICAO-compliant biometric (e) passport, you can register a free "visa waiver" at the Embassy of Japan in Jakarta or a Consulate-General (Surabaya, Denpasar, Makassar, Medan). It's valid for 3 years and grants 15-day visa-free tourist entry. No visa itinerary required.
- No e-passport, not registered, or staying longer → you need a visa. Ordinary passport holders can apply for a single-entry eVisa for tourism (up to 90 days), or a traditional visa. These require a detailed daily itinerary in Japan.

The format Japan expects: a 4-column table
The Schedule of Stay is a simple 4-column table covering every day from arrival to departure:
- Date
- Activity Plan (specific places, not just "tourism")
- Contact
- Accommodation (with full address and phone)

Common mistakes Indonesian applicants make
