Japan Visa Itinerary Sample — 7 Days (Tokyo · Hakone · Kyoto · Osaka)

This is a sample 7-day Golden Route plan — the classic Tokyo → Hakone → Kyoto → Osaka loop that most first-time visitors follow. Use it as a starting point for your visa Schedule of Stay, but adapt it to your real flights and hotels. The dates and accommodation in your itinerary must match your actual bookings, and each day's activities must be specific — Japanese consulates routinely reject vague plans that just say "tourism" or "sightseeing".

How to use this for your visa

This sample shows the shape of a good itinerary — now make it yours:

Why specific activities matter

Consulates use the Schedule of Stay to confirm your trip is real and planned. Generic entries like "sightseeing" or "free time" are a common reason applications stall, because they don't show a concrete plan. Naming the places — Senso-ji, Fushimi Inari, Arashiyama, Osaka Castle — demonstrates that your trip is genuine and that your bookings hang together. Specific beats vague every time.
